Park von Tervuren

It is a delight to cycle past the ponds, neoclassical gardens and historic buildings of Tervuren’s Warandepark. It is steeped in history: in the 12th century, this 205-hectare domain served as the hunting grounds of Duke Henry I of Brabant. The ruins of the ducal palace can be found at the beautiful St Hubert Chapel, built in 1616. Leopold II commissioned the construction of the African Palace and the imposing AfricaMuseum. The museum was recently renovated whereby its outdated colonial perspective was replaced with a contemporary view of a proud continent.
